Privacy policy · Updated September 2026

We collect nothing.

TimeOut has no account, no ads, no analytics and no servers. The app never sends anything off your device.

01

What the app collects

Nothing.

TimeOut does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data. It has no user accounts, no sign-in, no advertising, no third-party SDKs and no analytics or crash-reporting services. The app makes no network requests.

02

What stays on your device

To work, TimeOut stores the following locally on your iPhone or iPad:

  • Your blocks: names, time windows, days, allowed time and exit friction level
  • The apps, categories and websites you choose to block
  • Your streak, break and timer state
  • Your shield text, Smart Shield preference and DEEP mode password

This data lives in the app's storage and in an App Group shared with TimeOut's own widgets and Screen Time extensions. None of it is sent to us or anyone else. Deleting the app deletes it.

03

Apple Screen Time

TimeOut blocks apps through Apple's Screen Time framework (FamilyControls, ManagedSettings and DeviceActivity). When you pick apps to block, iOS gives TimeOut opaque tokens, not the names of your apps or your usage history. TimeOut cannot see which apps you use or for how long.

You can revoke Screen Time access at any time in iOS Settings → Screen Time.

04

Siri and Shortcuts

If you start a timer with Siri or Shortcuts, the request is handled by iOS and run on your device. TimeOut receives only the action to perform.

05

This website

This website uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It does not use cookies and does not identify individual visitors. The website collects no other data.

06

Children

TimeOut collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.

07

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date. If TimeOut ever starts collecting data, this page will say so before the app does.
